From the recording SAME AS YESTERDAY (devia)

"Story behind the song":  to come soon. (that's what she said)
just a note about the "bridge" - I'm one of the more devout beatle fans.  i wrote the song furthest away from 'yesterday' but it clicked how perfect that one verse was - & was never meant to be recorded so literally.  having never gotten around to developing the more abstract idea, the mccartney (beatle) "bridge" stands.  i/devia never did anything with the song due to the rights issues.  it's used with love and adoration for Paul - & of course the beatles.  not that that flies in court but that's the story for now.
the recording version i used, from what i recall is the beatles anthology version.  i'm singing over / along with the track - so, no - that's not me sounding like paul.  unfortunately, for the rest of us humans, only paul can sound like paul.

Lyrics

Same As Yesterday

I don’t feel different today
It feels the same as any other day
Would it matter much if nothing ever changed
And all I’ve been is now and forever shall be...

Now that I’m at home
I can reflect
Now I’m alone
With no respect from anyone

Every day I try to change
Correcting all that I’ve done wrong
Here I am, here we are - no different than we are
Sucking on such a large and bitter pacifier

Is it wrong of me to project the blame
Or do we all take on our own decay
Crack the catalyst
The same as other days
Put a nipple on it
Still drowning all the angels come down to help me

Now that I’m alone
I can reflect
Now I’m alone
With no respect from anyone

Every day I try to change
Erasing all that I’ve done wrong
There you are, here I am - no different than we’ve been
Sucking on such a large and bitter pacifier...

Bridge (BEATLES - YESTERDAY-USING MCCARTNEY YESTERDAY (BEATLES ANTHOLOGY) "SAMPLE")

Here I stand, here I sit, here I lay
The same as yesterday
The same as yesterday
The same as yesterday
The same as yesterday
